A Scent Diary for Different Moments

A Scent Diary for Different Moments — THIKURA Beauty Journal

Fragrance is experienced over time, not only in the first seconds at the counter. A short scent diary helps separate an exciting opening note from a scent you actually enjoy wearing.

Test with breathing room

Try one or two scents on separate blotters and label them. Smell them at the start, then revisit after a few minutes. If a candidate still interests you, test it on clean skin according to the product guidance, leaving space between samples. Avoid comparing many strong fragrances at once; sensory fatigue can make them blur together.

Record the moment, not just the notes

Write down where you wore the fragrance, the weather, and whether it felt comfortable at work, at a dinner, or on a quiet day. Note how it developed after an hour and whether the amount you applied was appropriate for the setting. A note pyramid on a box is useful, but your own experience on skin is more useful for a personal decision.

Choose deliberately

A small bottle you reach for often can be more satisfying than a large bottle bought on first impression. Store it away from heat and strong light, keep the cap secure, and check current size and availability before purchase. If fragrance irritates your skin or breathing, discontinue it and consult a qualified professional as appropriate.
